| MY EDEN Luxury yacht rescued German yacht crew off Poros Sep 23 09:52In the morning of Sep 22, 2020, the crew of the German yacht ‘Lady of Chantry‘ reported water ingres NE of Poros. A Greek patrol boat jointly with the ‘Liakos‘ were alerted. The ‘My Eden‘ (MMSI: 319136600), which was enroute from Nafplion to Vouliagmeni, was first on scene and rescued the crew of two from a boat after they had abandoned ship. They were transferred onto the ‘Liakos‘ and then taken to Poros aboard the patrol boat in healthy condition. Their boat sank, no pollution was reported. | Scarpe Patrol boat rescued eight migrants Sep 23 09:58On Sep 22around 7:45 a.m., the patrol boat 'Jacques Oudart Fourmentin' of the French customs, located a distressed boat North of Calais before being engaged in another case. The 'Scarpe' of the maritime gendarmerie headed to the boat and provided assistance to the eight migrants. They were taken on board and then dropped off at the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer at noon, where they are taken care of by the border police. 14 migrants rescued off Calais Sep 15 10:11On Sep 14, 2020, the CROSS Gris-Nez was informed by the SAMU about a boat in difficulty off Calais. The CROSS immediately deployed the VCSM 'Scarpe' of the maritime gendarmerie to assist. The 14 castaways were taken aboard the boat and dropped off at the port of Calais at 7.20 a.m. where they were taken care of by the firefighters of the departmental fire and rescue service and by the border police. They were all safe and sound. Distressed migrants rescued off Calais Sep 02 10:44On Sep 1, 2020, the CROSS Gris-Nez was informed that several migrant boats were in difficulty off Calais. A ferry located a kayak in difficulty two miles east of Calais. The CROSS deployed the customs boat 'Jacques Oudart Fourmentin' to provide assistance. The two castaways were taken on board the patrol boat and then transferred to the 'Scarpe' to be dropped off at the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer at 10:09 a.m. where they were taken care of by PAF 62. | JEAN BART 2 Lifeboat rescued 24 migrants Sep 23 10:00On Sep 22, 2020, around 8:30 a.m., the 'Jean Bart II' of the SNSM station in Dunkirk along with the patrol boat 'Jacques Oudart Fourmentin' were deployed to assist a boat in distress eight nautical miles north of Dunkirk. The boat was relocated thanks to a maritime surveillance flight carried out by a Dauphin helicopter of the French Navy. The 24 castaways were taken aboard the SNSM boat and then dropped off at the port of Dunkirk around 11:00 a.m. where they were taken care of by the firefighters and the border police. Lifeboat took disabled trawler in tow Aug 16 2015 13:11On Aug 15, 2015, at 1 p.m. the CROSS Gris Nez alerted the "Jean Bart II" of the SNSM station in Dunkirk after the Scottish trawler "King Challenger", 192 gt (IMO: 9345099), had suffered engine damage at the banks of Bergues, about 15 miles north of Dunkirk. The lifeboa took the trawler in tow, with two sailors on board. It later reached Dunkirk four hours later with own power, escorted by lifeboat and berthed at the quay of Monitors where a mechanic was called to carry out repairs. | Jacques Oudart Fourmentin Patrol boat rescued 27 migrants in two cases Sep 23 10:02Pn Sep 22 at noon the 'Jacques Oudart Fourmentin' was deployed to assist a boat in distress north of Gravelines. The nine migrants aboard were recovered by the vessel. At around 1.20 p.m., following a distress call from another boat, the patrol boat also recovered 18 castaways in the upstream lane of the traffic separation system off Calais. The 27 migrants were dropped off at the port of Boulogne-sur-mer where they were taken care of by the border police. 24 castaways rescued off Calais Sep 17 10:19On Sep 16 the CROSS Gris-Nez was informed by SAMU 62 that several migrant boats were in difficulty in the Strait of Pas-de-Calais. The CROSS Gris-Nez immediately deployed the 'Aramis' of the maritime gendarmerie as well as the 'Jacques Oudart Fourmentin' for assistance. 17 castaways were taken a board the ''Aramis' and dropped off at the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer at 2:00 p.m. where they were taken care of by the departmental fire and rescue service and the border police. Seven castaways were taken aboard the 'Jacques Oudart Fourmentin' and dropped off at the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer at 6:00 p.m. where they were taken care of by the departmental fire and rescue service and the border police. 18 migrants rescued off Dunkirk Sep 08 10:42On Sep 07, 2020, the CROSS Gris-Nez Regionalwas informed that several migrant boats were in difficulty in the Strait of Pas-de-Calais. A zodiac-type boat was difficulty off Dunkirk with 16 people on board, including five women and four children. The 'Jacques Oudart Fourmentin' of the French customs was deployed to assist the boat which had an engine failure. The vessel took the castaways on board and headed to the port of Dunkirk West, where they werre taken care of by the border police. In the afternoon, the CROSS was informed by a ferry of the presence of a zodiac with migrants in difficulty. The CROSS again sent the 'Jacques Oudart Fourmentin' to assist. IT picked up two people with hypothermia. They were transferred onto the lifeboat 'Notre Dame du Risban' of the SNSM. At 5.40 p.m., they were taken care of by the firefighters, rescue service and the border police in Calais. | STAVANGER Passenger was infected with corona virus Sep 23 10:51On Sep 22, 2020, Norled stated that they have been informed by the municipal chief in Høyanger that a passenger who has taken the 'Stavanger' between Lavik and Oppedal has been diagnosed with coronavirus. He had taken the ferry at 11.50 a.m. on Sep 20 on board a bus. The risk of infection for other passengers on the ferry was considered very low and unlikely. The bus passengers were tested on arrival in Stavanger. Ferry out of service, no spare ferry available Wed Jun 12 2019 20:22On June 11, 2019, around 6 p.m. the "Stavanger" sustained a problem with one main engine and had to be sidelined in Ytre Oppedal. The spare ferry "Bjørnefjord" was also out of service because it lacked an important part for the engine. On June 12 only two ferries served the heavily trafficked E39 connection over the Sognefjord between Lavik and Oppedal. Norled was working on getting one of the two ferries operational again. | Pucara saved eight fishermen Sep 23 11:17The Argentine flagged 21,5-m-trawler “Carmelo A” sank in the evening of Sep 22, 2020, while operating on mackerel in the area known as “El Rincón”, located in the extreme south of the province of Buenos Aires. The eight crew members were rescued by the “Pucará” from a liferaft after abandoning ship. The "Don Nicola" was deployed by the Prefecture to mark the wereck, it also sent a helicopter to the area. Robb Erickson says the 902-foot semi-submersible heavy-lift ship will take the Polar Pioneer to Norway by following the coast to the Strait of Magellan at the tip of South America. | Hafnia Phoenix Tanker approached by pirates off Ghana Sep 23 11:59The Hafnia Phoenix was approached off Ghana by suspected pirates on Sep 22, 2020. The incident took place approximately 74 nautical miles southeast of Takoradi. The tanker was sailing from Lome to Abidjan. A speedboat believed to be carrying eight people approached the tanker and a ladder could be seen in the boat. The tanker increased speed and took evasive maneuvers. It was able to leave the area without further incident. Medevac off Boston Dec 29 2018 13:38A boat crew from the Coast Guard Station Boston medevaced a 31-year-old male crew member from the "Hafnia Phoenix" in the afternoon of Dec 28, 2018, after he fell ill 26 miles east of Boston. The captain of the ship notified Coast Guard Sector Boston watchstanders at approximately 11:15 a.m. of the man’s condition, and it was determined a medevac to the nearest hospital was necessary. A Coast Guard Station Boston crew, augmented with emergency medical services personnel from Massachusetts General Hospital, launched to assist as the Hafnia Phoenix made way toward Boston. The crew arrived on scene at approximately 12:15 p.m. and took the patient aboard. They then transported him to Black Falcon Cruise Terminal where an ambulance was waiting. The patient was expected to be brought to Tufts Medical Center for further care. | COLOR FANTASY Medevac off Djursland Sep 23 12:34On Sep 20, 2020, at 01.50 a.m. a passenger of the 'Color Fantasy', enroute from Oslo to Kiel, fell ill and needed to be medevaced. A Danish rescue helicopter evacuated the patient from the ferry off Djursland. The patient was flown to Roskilde for further treatment. Medevac off Sjællands Odde Feb 04 10:33On Feb 3, 2020, at 8.55 p.m. an SAR helicopter from Roskilde medevaced a patient from the 'Color Fantasy' off Sjællands Odde. He was safely hoisted and transported to the Rigshospital. The ferry was enroute from Kiel to Oslo. Medevaqc off Anholt Sep 10 2018 10:27On Sep 9, 2018, at 10 p.m. a helicopter of the Danish navy medevaced a patient from the "Color Fantasy" off Anholt. He was taken to Rigshospitalet on advice of the Norwegian Radio Medical Service. The ship was enroute from Kiel to Oslo. | BELOMORSKIY-20 Barge sank under tow of freighter Sep 23 20:37 The barge 'ST-791', being loaded with reinforced concrete products, sank under tow of the 'Belomorskiy 21' in the Gulf of Ob on Sep 21, 2020. The convoy was en route from the port of Salekhard to Gyda. The sinking was reportedly the result of water ingress into the barge's hold in stormy weather in the Karmennaya Bay. There were no casualties or injuries. |
